Terrain: home made Fantasy/40k stepped 2-tier hill.

Hi, the other day I made this hill, the next one will probably come with a tutorial, suffice to say we learned a lot of tips and the next one should be a breeze. I will be painting it in a greyey brown moonscape-mordor type thing hopefully with sand mixed in to make it a rough coat.

It was made out of insulation board (high-density polystyrene), all we did was cut the bottom piece roughly then cut a little detail before using a candle to burn bits away, remember, less = more with this. If you want the odd deeper gash then first cut a rough hole then burn. Next we cut the top piece and did the same thing before sticking it carefully ontop of the larger piece with PVA glue (elmers white glue if your in the USA). Then we textured the surface via burning again and finally I stuck together and burned some random bit of 'rock' then stuck them on.

The idea of the hill was to provide a useable piece of terrain for both 40k and Fantasy, I think it has worked but the painting will make a big difference as it decides where it is. There is plenty of open space to put movement trays etc on without it being too bare. I think it looks pretty good, how about you? Anyway, here are the pics:

So, tell us what you think, thanks for reading,

Jacob.

quad gun 1

quad gun 2

Along with this I had another 3 lots of barricades and a couple more bare bases. I thought I had done really well but then I heard that my mate had got 20 sets of barricades and 1 quad gun. AA well. I still have lots. So, tell us what you think.

Thanks for reading,

Jacob

Terrain: More, more, more/ Salamanders: Reedeemer pics.

Hi, guys, these are some pics of the new reedeemer, I put on a multi-melta so when it gets close it can still cause harm.

As you can see the sponsons are at the front.

This is the first piece of terrain, it hides units pretty well and could be considered difficult terrain.

The back

Another wall like piece that could fill a gap or just sit there.

The frame was made from sprue.

Mini barricade.

Big simple barricade.

A raised platform big enough for you to comfortably fit a 10 man squad or some heavy stuff up there.

Below is a bunker the front is made out of and old CD drive cover.

And now is the proof of the starter set, it doesn't have the marines in.

A view of the terrain.
Trees. And it did come with 20 dark eldar which I can use as dead on bases and such.

Terrain: Exploded tank side.

This post is long overdue but I haven't had much time lately, anyway I made this out of spare bits and it looks cool it could be scenery or a scenic base.

The stones in the middle are the foam that you get in blister backs but I painted them so they go hard.

It's in the coulers of a chaos army I'm planning on building but with more rust.
