So, today i went to the Preston GW and played a couple of games of 40k with my wolves, it was great fun to play 40k again after playing fantasy alone for a while. But, when I was talking with some of the guys there one of them was half joking half talking seriouly talking about how Necrons really needed an upgrade and that it was unfair that marines got a new one virtualy every week (egsageration I know) then another guy said in the same way that was because Marines lose so GW feels they need updates whereas necrons can win when played right. We then got into a discussion about the fact that nubes always go for marines.
Now, that philosophy about marines being well, FAIL! is interesting to me, I don't belive in that, do you nplease tell me. Now the other thing is that marines are poster boys and that's whay they always get picked, so I was thinking that we could put together some posts on how to do some articles on different armies and starting builds etc at different points values (1000-2000 pts) then how they are easy and hard to play with, now these don't have to be collected together but just have a think about you favorite army and whether you could put a post up on your blog doing what I described above.
So, tell us what you think, thanks for reading,
Jacob.

Army Finishing Project: Much progres on WIPs.
These ludicrous thoughts were scrawled by
Gamers World
at
8:30:00 am
Hi, over the last week or so I have been making progres on my Reedeemer, a terran hands rhino (repainted) and a WIP tac squad. On with the pics:
Here is the Reedeemer The gold was painted iyanden then twice shining gold then very very heavy wash devlan.
I ran our of boltgun so the maetals are mithril silver heavily washed with badab black.
Now for the marines, sorry for bad lighting in these pics.
On these I just did some little things like some highlighting, next is final details and arms/boltguns, should be good when there done!
Finaly the rhino, not many pics at the moment as it is just as you see there. This is just a bog standard job.
So, what do you think. Have you been enjoying the army finishing project, I know I have. Not going to be much warhammer coming my way this christmas but hey ho. Thanks for reading,
Jacob.

Marines: So typical.
These ludicrous thoughts were scrawled by
Gamers World
at
11:36:00 am
First off I would like to appologise for the lack of posts over the weakend but it's near christmas and I had parties then friends then a plethora of other stuff. Anyway, on with the post:
I know it's been said before but arn't marines just so typical, I mean termies are made to be the sole uber you can't kill me unit in the game and are supposedly easy to use. More acidentaly than for ballance there are other power units like nob bikers but still, termies are predictable but there isn't that much you can do about them without wasting resorces.
The standard marine is that hero, they have a great save, a cool statline and you can just immagine them yelling heroicaly and snapping shots off.
Jump infantry are the hero but even cooler because now they fly! See what I mean.
Marines are typical and predictable but are very powerful, they seem to have no weakness but that is there weakness, jacok of all trades master of none.
So, if you play marines then try out some radical lists/tactics. If you fight them then try and make them play differently,

Jacob.

Tutorials: Writing on tanks (11 pics).
These ludicrous thoughts were scrawled by

12:00:00 am
Hi, Just thought I'd do the tutorial on how I did the writing on the sally rhinos, reme3mber this isa also a bpart of the army finishing project, here we go:
Step 1, placing: choose where on the model you want the writing, make sure to do this carefully as it is very important.
Step 2, draw it: Get a pice of paper and draw out what you want your writing to say, I called one of my rhinos Fire Drake and the other Carinus. Here is how I drew out Fire Drake.
Step3, paint 1: paint the letters carefully with only simple curls etc, make sure to print it and not join up as this will make it neater.
Step 4, paint 2: Paint on your other locations (I had 2).
Step 5, joining up: It's hard to see butb here I have carefully joined up the letters.
Here are the close-ups of my other tank so you can see the step by step again.
So, what do you think, like it. Do I need to improve anything. Thanks for reading,
Jacob.

Marines: Chainsword, should it work and are it's rules right.
These ludicrous thoughts were scrawled by
Gamers World
at
11:09:00 am
Hi, today I thought i'd talk about a relatively hotly debated topic on chainswords. No.1 is whether they should actually work and no.2 is what they should do in game.
No.1: Argument 1 is that a whirling bladewould just bounce of anything armored. I mean the teeth would turn so fast they would kick the weapon back. Also some armies have them whiring on both sides mening that they are just and dangerous to the user as the enemy.
Argument 2 is that space marines are strong enough and they thing whirs quick enough with very sharp blades that they could stop the kick and still cut propperly. The bit about it being dangerous to the user can be countered by the fact that space marines should not be overpowered so it should never come close to them in a sword lock. Some say they would be unweildy but space marines are increibly strong and could conter that.
No.2 In game they are just considered CCW's but in books they are an incredible weapon of destruction! So, maybe they should be alterative power weapons and you should be able to take combat blades as CCW's. That would make more sence to me.
So, what is you position on this. Do you like the chainsword thing or think it is silly. Tell us.
Thanks for reading,
Jacob.

Fluff: The two missing Primarchs theorys and cannon round up!
These ludicrous thoughts were scrawled by
Gamers World
at
10:38:00 am
So, as part of this week I said I would find some stuff as well as write it. So last night I spend a couple of hours looking for threads that had good info, here are a load of links:
Relic News
Heresy Online
40K online
Dakka Dakka (or at least one of their many ones)
Interesting topic
Now are a few things that I thought interesting if you want more then use the links, anyway, on with the stuff:
The two lost Primarchs might represent the two completely lost roman legions in Roman history.
The two Primarchs may be in halo andbghost stars etc where the emperor's light can't reach.
One of them may be Sigmar from fanatsy. This is shown in some of the threads but one big clue is the fact his symbol is a two tailed comet and all the primarchs arrived via a comet.
It is a new theory to me but it seem pretty solid that the warhammer world is in the 40k universe be either constantly covered by warp storms or in the eye of terror. This has been proven in some of the older fluff!
Here is a quote from one guy:
'A reasonable suggestion I've seen before was that they rebelled against the Emperor not due to Chaos influence but due to their own beliefs. Without an outside source to blame for their "corruption" records of them were removed to preserve a notion of infallibility or undoubtable morality for the Emperor.'
So, what do you think of this new style of post, do you like it. Tell me please.
Thanks for reading,
Jacob.

Tutorials: How to paint blood, quick and simple.
These ludicrous thoughts were scrawled by

4:37:00 am
Hi, todays tutorial is abput how to paint blood. Now remember, all of my tutorials are done on a basis of 'this won't give you amazing standards but will look like what it's supposed to, anyway along with my tutorial:
Before pic. I always like to let you see the guy before aswell as after.
It's hard to see but I have painted rd gore over where I want the blood to be.
Then finally highlight with blood red. If the cut is almost dry then you can leve more of the cut red gore. If there is a bit of a scab the use blck and highlight brown. This entire tecnique would look better over a larger area but this is what I had to work with.
Thanks everyone and please let me know if you think he looks better/worse after the blood.

Jacob

Fluff: My force (space marines).
These ludicrous thoughts were scrawled by
Gamers World
at
8:58:00 am
HI, this post is in answer to a comment on a previous post asking me to post up my fluff for my marine force. So here it is:
The whole force 1: My force is a compilation of forces from different chapters. There is most of the Terran Hands force, the remnants of a Salamander specialist company called 'The Dark Inferno' and a very small detachment of silver skulls that was found by the battle force.
Terran Hands: the Terran Hands are succesors of the Ultramarine and Imperial Fists, when making the chapter the gene seed of the two primarchs was mixed creating a special breed of space maine. My chapter is not pompous like Ultramarines but are extremely hardend fighters that will never break, though they do have high tactical acumen and may 'tactically withdraw' if the situation commands it. The Terran Hands adore Land Raiders but are only in posation of 3, all of which remain permanatly on the battle barge because there is only 10 tech marines between my entire battle force and all of the LR are in a terrible state of repair.
Once the Terran hands were a stong chapter of prowess, but when most of the chapter was intercepted by some dark eldar trickery, pulling the entire chapter into a terrible warp storm that left only about 200 marines which were all contained on the flagship of the chapter 'Awesome Terra', after this attack the flagship was blasted out of the warp above a planet called XX3II8-911-XX* or Magma Imperialis, Here fought the Dark Inferno Salamanders.
Dark Inferno Salamanders: This specialist company was left sor dead fighting in a continent sized volcano against a warp worshiping fire spirit army, by the time the Terran Hands arrived the 300 strong company had barely 70 men left and almost all were injured. The Terran Hands had no choice but to help the Salamanders and by the time the fire spirits were defeated the company numbered about 100 men so when a very tiny detatchment of lost Silver Skulls joined them they welcomed it like water to parched lips.
On the subject of what these Salamanders are, they are just normal sallies but all highly experienced veterans, each sergeant is worthy of being a command squader and each marine has had around 300 years of experience, even the scouts have fought of decades on end.
Silver skulls : just normal Silver skulls.
Hole force2: Now all these guys fight together trying to hunt down remenants of chapters and kill Dark elves.
Hope you enjoyed this fluff.
Thanks for reading,
Jacob.

Salamanders/WoC: Marauders half sprayed, 3 rhinos and 2 speeders fully sprayed.
These ludicrous thoughts were scrawled by

So, I ran out of spray half way through spraying the marauders but I did mannage to do the rhinos and speeders, info bellow each pic.
I really like the look of these guys, the musician has a converted musical instrument. They cound as having spears (not throwing spears) and hand weapons and shields.
Overall these are my favourites they count as being armed the same as the other unit but I didn't want them looking exactly the same.
Now for the flail guys which are a really useful unit and I really like using them.
Now for the 40k. As you can see all the stuff is sprayed. At the time of posting two of the rhinos have the green on them and one has the metal started.

The whole lot.
Here is a little peak at what is to come. It is WoC but you can try and guess what it is the start of. All will be revealed in a few days.
Thanks for reading everyone and please comment if you know what that greenstuffed thing will be.
